Pioneer Entertainment Introduces TheTrio Fontenay

Pioneer Entertainment introduces the ìTrio Fontenay,î a live concert recorded at ""Weissen Saal"" in Bad Kissingen, Germany, on DVD. The pieces performed are intimate chamber compositions by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Hans Werner Henze and Johannes Brahms. MozartÌs Trio B flat major K 502, with its richness of inventions, is regarded as an astonishing work both by his contemporaries and music experts today. HenzeÌs Kammersonate was one of the milestones in his career. By taking the sting out of ""avant-garde compositions,"" he bridged the gap between modern music and the audience. BrahmsÌ chamber compositions present an unparalleled mix of traditional classical music and the romantic tendencies of his lifetime. Presented in 5.1 Dolby Digital and original non-compressed stereo, added features of the Trio Fontenay DVD include on screen music analysis, biographies of the performers, liner notes, contemporary history of the pieces and a glossary of terms. About the ìTrio Fontenayî: Since its formation in 1980, ìTrio Fontenayî has been lavishly praised for their technical excellence, richness of tone and depth of interpretive imagination. Inspired by their early study with the Amadeus Quartet, the ensemble performs throughout Europe, North and South America, Australia and the Far East. ìTrio FontenayÌsî recording of the Beethoven Piano Trios for Teldec received the 1994 Preis Der Deutschen Schallplattendritik, the German Record Critics Award. The ìTrio Fontenayî is currently touring throughout the United States.
