Extron Introduces New VTG 400 Programmable Video And Audio Test Signal Generator

Extron Electronics has introduced the VTG 400, an advanced, programmable, and upgradeable Video and Audio Test Generator. The VTG 400 is a broadcast-quality reference tool for set-up, performance evaluation, system calibration, and troubleshooting of video and audio systems. An innovative and groundbreaking feature of the VTG 400 is Scope-Trigger (Patent Pending). Scope-Trigger expedites analysis of a specific area within the video image when used with an oscilloscope. ""As the new Extron flagship test generator, the VTG 400 is a true benchmark tool for A/V systems,"" says Lee Dodson, vice president of marketing for Extron. ""The VTG 400 features powerful capabilities that enable proof of performance for commissioning and testing A/V systems."" The VTG 400 offers 34 video test patterns, several with adjustable levels, and seven audio test reference signals with selectable frequencies and output levels. A total of 97 factory scan rates are available for high resolution computer-video, HDTV, 1.78:1 (16:9), plasma, and RGB, as well as standard definition component video, S-video, and composite video. SDI/HDSDI output is available with the VTG 400D. Versatile and lightweight, the VTG 400 is appropriate for field or bench testing, or permanent installation in integrated A/V systems.
