Jaggies
The breaking-up of a straight, diagonal line into jagged segments resembling the teeth of a saw.

Jitter
1) Fluctuations in a digital audio or analogue video signal, resulting from speed and sync pulse variations during playback. 2) Refers to poor timing resolution of the digital data stream at the point where the analog signal is converted to digital at the recording stage, and when the digital data is converted back to analog at the playback stage. If the timing of the data transitions, or edges, that control the DAC output is imprecise, then the DAC output will be poorly timed, causing a temporal stretching or squeezing of the audio signal, a particularly insidious form of nonlinear distortion.

JPEG
Joint Photographic Experts Group. A working committee under the auspices of the International Standards Organization (ISO) that is attempting to define a proposed universal standard for the digital compression and decompression of still images for use in computer systems. The JPEG algorithm reduces image size by as much as 65:1 while maintaining image integrity by eliminating imperceptible color information.
